I had so much fun on my girls' trip to Lake LBJ with 16 Texas Tech Delta Gammas! We decided to start doing a fun trip together every year, so we found some cabins that we could rent for the weekend, and away we went!
I carpooled to the cabin with Meredith and Nicole, who also live in DFW. We had a blast talking about our college days all the way to the cabin! I had forgotten how much fun I used to have with these girls! It was only about a 3 1/2 hour trip, but we were still the last ones there, so we ended up on the pull out couches. HAHA!! Luckily, I sleep through everything, so that was no problem!
When we got there, everyone was catching up with each other. Some of the girls had started making dinner for everyone, and the party was ON! We ate, we talked, we sang, we danced! We had a blast and stayed up really late, of course!!
Then Jay called my cell phone (to ask me where the T-Ball field was, and if I had gotten a call that it was going to be called because of the rain) and woke us up at 9 AM!! HAHA!! I guess we stayed up too late!! Then the Saturday breakfast crew started making quiche and chopping fresh fruit while everyone else woke up and got ready for a fun-filled day in the pool!
AND HERE CAME THE STORMS ....
It rained all morning, so we stayed inside and played board games. It is a good thing everyone brought so many games to play! We had fun. Then the lunch crew started making tacos, chips, and dips to snack on! And we played more board games! Then we saw a clearing in the clouds, and it was like a mad dash to get our swimsuits on and out to the pool!! Finally .... swimming in the pool!
Then we wanted to go on a walking tour of the area and the other cabins around us. It was so peaceful and beautiful! We even tried to scope out a cabin for next year!!
We walked down to the lake and found the swings!!
We found a GIGANTIC dream house that was still being built. We all decided that we wanted to stay there next year. We went to ask the office about it, and it is only going to be rented out on special occassions to couples. BUMMER!!
Then we headed back to our cabin to swim a little more, and the dinner crew started making fajitas with Rosa's Tortillas! YUMMY!!
After dinner the games began again! We played Catch Phrase, Charades, and Apples to Apples. It was another late night with lots of laughing and good times! Although, I am not real sure what these girls were so excited about!!
Everyone woke up at 9 AM again when the Breakfast crew started the breakfast tacos, while everyone else started to get packed up and ready to go! We all ate together and started to get sad as we gathered our things. We knew we needed pictures before we all went our separate ways.
Then Meredith, Nicole, and I started back out on the road. I had to get back for Kenny's Spring Choir Concert. I really had a FABULOUS time with my girls, and I cannot wait until next year!!
